Wang Wei

PhD candidate, Faculty of Law; research fields: Intellectual Property and Information Technology, Law and Technology (ELSI)

Mr. Wei Wang is now a PhD candidate at the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include IP & IT Law, Innovation & Competition Policy, particularly by means of computational legal studies and data science. Before the commencement of his PhD studies, he spent four years in enjoying the process of exploring technology and justice, after which he got his Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Laws as an Outstanding Graduate Student from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. So far he has finished WIPO/QUT Joint LLM in Intellectual Property with Dean’s Scholarship and a second MPhil in Law and Technology at HUST where he also conducted his postgraduate research with the support of the Institute of Science and Technology Law and the Research Center for the Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property approved by the Supreme Court of P.R.China.

Afterwards, he also worked as Data Analyst of IP litigations in Shenzhen and Research Assistant in Intellectual Property at Law and Technology Centre of HKU. He has been an active speaker in the China Annual 30-People Forum of Cyber Law. He is now Member of International Association of Artificial Intelligence and Law, Asian Privacy Scholars Network and Creative Commons Global Network (Founding Member of Creative Commons Hong Kong Chapter).

His primary supervisor of his PhD study is Dr. Yahong Li.
