The Hong Kong government is committed to making Hong Kong a regional IP trading centre. There has been a substantial increase in IP arbitration in Hong Kong with some very major cases handled by Hong Kong based arbitration institutions — the HKIAC, ICC and CIETAC Hong Kong.As a result, a chapter on IP arbitration in Hong Kong has been added to this work. This new chapter is in addition to the new chapters on domain name protection and IP and Competition Law which were added to the looseleaf service in 2016 and included in the first desktop edition. The chapter on patents has also been updated to reflect the amendments to the Patents Ordinance that came into force in 2019.

It is hoped that in this work will be a go-to tool for practitioners, academics, students and others interested in Hong Kong intellectual property law and issues.
