This public lecture will focus on:

  • Copyright economy and copyright as an innovation policy
  • YouTube as a platform for creativity and emerging artists
  • Overview of Google’s policies and tools designed to fight piracy on the Internet across different platforms and services (Search, YouTube and Content ID, Notice-and-Takedown procedures)
  • New digital business models and monetization on the web

About the speaker: 

Ksenia Duxfield-Karyakina is a Regional Public Policy Manager based out of Hong Kong.  Covering Asia-Pacific, she mainly focuses on innovations policy, content, copyright and cultural impact programmes in the region. She oversees YouTube public policy and Google Cultural Institute projects in APAC.

Ksenia has been with Google since 2011, previously working for the Russian Public Policy team in Moscow. Before Google, her experience includes leading Public Affairs at an OECD organization tackling financial crime, and working as a PR manager in the international VTB Banking Group, and Russia’s national railway company.

She holds a PhD in new media economics and enjoys reading old fashioned paper books and hiking in her spare time.
