Albert Yuen (Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) – Hong Kong & Counsel, Linklaters)
Albert is Head of Hong Kong’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) team at Linklaters possessing over 23 years’ experience specialising in all aspects of technology, digitalisation, digital infrastructure, telecoms, data privacy and cybersecurity, fintech, commercial IP, emerging tech (e.g. AI) and technology risk management issues. He has worked for leading domestic and global corporate clients across a wide range of sectors in APAC and the Middle East. Albert has lived and worked in Australia, the United States (Los Angeles) and now Hong Kong and has spent time on legal secondments to major telecommunications service operators in Australia and Asia.
Carl Li (Solicitor, Lead Innovation Lawyer (Asia), Linklaters)
Carl is Linklater’s Lead Innovation Lawyer – Asia based in Hong Kong. He drives technology innovation for Linklater’s Asia business working closely with all legal practice teams and assists in enhancing the delivery of client services using innovative technologies to enhance legal service delivery such as AI. He was previously a senior lawyer working in Linklaters capital markets team for 8 years and prior to that worked in Corporate/M&A and Finance teams for leading New Zealand law firms.
Yang Fan (Privacy Counsel, APAC, Ant Group)
Yang is Privacy Counsel, APAC for Ant Group. Yang started his training contract with Linklaters’ London office in March 2016 and qualified into the Linklaters’ London TMT practice in March 2018. He subsequently relocated to Linklaters’ Hong Kong TMT practice in Summer 2021 before joining Ant Group in May 2024. Yang has also spent time on secondment to RBS London as legal counsel in its data protection team, as well as in Ant Group’s EU data protection team.
