David Llewelyn

Deputy Dean and Professor of Law (Practice), School of Law, Singapore Management University

Professor David Llewelyn is the Honorary Professor in the Department of Law at The University of Hong Kong. Resident in Singapore, he is the Deputy Dean and Professor (Practice) in the School of Law at Singapore Management University and Professor of Intellectual Property Law at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London. David is joint author of “Cornish, Llewelyn & Aplin: Intellectual Property Law: Patents, Copyright, Trade Marks and Allied Rights” (8th ed., 2013) and “Kerly’s Law of Trade Marks and Trade Names” (15th ed., 2011), and his business book “Invisible Gold in Asia: Creating Wealth from Intellectual Property” was published in 2010. Formerly the partner heading the IP practice at White & Case in London, he is now a door-tenant of leading IP chambers 8 New Square in London through which he advises on intellectual property law matters. David also sits as an arbitrator in IP licence and technology-related disputes.

Professor Llewelyn co-teaches a summer intensive course “Management and Commercialization of Intellectual Property” in HKU.
